Hemorrhoid Sufferers Need to Limit Caffeine Intake
Hemorrhoids or piles are a painful condition and cause discomfort. But by limiting consumption of caffeine can help reduce the discomfort of hemorrhoids.
Some mild cases of hemorrhoids can be treated without surgery by performing the change of diet and certain lifestyle, although in severe cases that can inhibit the activity usually addressed through the surgery.
Hemorrhoid sufferers should limit consumption of foods and beverages that contain caffeine because it can aggravate pain and discomfort that arises, as quoted from the LIVESTRONG, Monday (12/09/2011).
This is because caffeine is a stimulant that can lead to constipation or even diarrhea. If you consume large amounts of caffeine so hemorrhoids will be more difficult to treat and often become more irritated.
Some drinks are known to be sources of caffeine such as coffee, tea and soda, while for the food is usually contained in chocolate. If you want to eat try selecting which do not contain caffeine.
Meanwhile, researchers from the University of Maryland Medical Center reported drinking lots of water can help reduce symptoms of hemorrhoids, and increase the intake of fiber from grains, nuts, fruits and vegetables.
Hemorrhoids occur when veins of the anus and rectum become swollen, causing pain when rubbing against something. Hemorrhoids are inside the body and usually causes no symptoms, but there are also outside the anus and cause pain and itching.
There are several factors that can lead to hemorrhoids, such as pregnancy, chronic constipation, chronic diarrhea, obesity and eating low-fiber, but there is also no known cause.
